Love Is Not Always Perfect
At Northern Beaches Funerals when we meet with families we are aware of the many different versions of love that exist in our complex human relationships.
The most beautiful to behold is probably that of the elderly couple who are still as much in love with each other as they were in their youth.
More usually, as human beings our underlying love is a constant, but it has changed with the passage of time.
Sometimes it can be a little dented, sometimes stretched to breaking point, but more often we see it has just quietly settled into a less shiny version of its former self.
At the end of life, the question can be asked. "Is the less shiny version as strong as the first flush?". Absolutely. An old love has weathered a great deal and has still prevailed.
There are few things stronger than an old love - which is a romantic love.
There are so many other versions of love. Parent-child, brother-sister, grandparents, cousins, friends, neighbours and even adversaries.
Each of these relationships offers an opportunity to know love, to give and receive love.
By the very nature of our business, our observations of all types of love is right at the end.
It is at the funeral service or memorial where we stand and see all types of people reflecting on their different types of love.
Love will continue to have an impact on all of us for the rest of our days.
Love is not always perfect.
Love is not always kind.
Love is not always dignified.
But if we look for it; we find it is always there.
Every person is unique. Every family is different.
With us, every Funeral is Individual.
